I am a qualified mountain leader and FRGS. I have been a volunteer leader with Ramble Worldwide for the last 9 years and in that time have led over 40 tours. Fell and mountain walking have been a major part of my life since I was a boy, both with my family and with my school fell walking club. It’s a hobby I have maintained over the years with my friends. I have also led expedition training for candidates on the Duke of Edinburgh’s Gold Award scheme.
When I was nearing retirement, I researched ways that I could combine my passion for the mountains and nature with the sense of achievement and purpose that leading brings. Becoming a volunteer leader with Ramble Worldwide ticked both boxes. I derive great satisfaction in creating positive, memorable, and enjoyable experiences for the groups I lead. I have led tours in the UK, Austria, Italy, Albania, Spain, Montenegro and Crete.
If put on the spot, I will happily admit that Crete and Majorca would top my tour wish list for any future leads.
Our walking holidays in Crete welcome you to an island like no other. Steeped in ancient history, Crete is adorned with ornate Venetian harbours, colourful mosaics, and palatial ruins. Traverse rustic mule tracks across limestone mountains for stunning views of cavernous gorges, or make the most of coastal walking on the glorious littoral stretches of golden sand.
View DestinationWhether it’s autumn or spring, Majorca is a country filled with diverse delights and is the perfect destination for scenic walking holidays. The largest of the Balearic Islands, Majorca offers a collection of memorable landscapes, impressive sights and sun-soaked skies, so every minute spent here will be filled with interest and insight.
