Walking Holidays in Cambodia

Cambodia is a remarkable country; it contains some of the most remote, beautiful scenery in Southern Asia and has a rich cultural and historical background to explore.

Walking holidays to Cambodia offer a view of untainted Asia, with its French colonial charm, vistas of emerald rice paddies and spectacular Khmer temples, palaces and tombs just waiting to be discovered. The blend of friendly, open people, delicious cuisine and historical treasures all make a hiking trip to Cambodia completely unforgettable.

Why Book a Walking Holiday to Cambodia?

Discovering Cambodia on foot is perhaps the most authentic way to experience this extraordinary country. Throughout your holiday, you’ll witness its oriental traditions and feel its invigorating ambience, learning all about the customs of the county's welcoming people along the way.

One of Cambodia's most popular destinations for travellers is the city of Siem Reap, referred to by many as the gateway to the Angkor Wat Temple. This astonishing Buddhist temple is one of the largest religious monuments in the world, known for its irreplicable quintet of unique towers and awe-inspiring Khmer architecture. This monument is so synonymous with Cambodia, that it even appears on the country's national flag.

When visiting Angkor Wat with Ramblers Walking Holidays, you’ll get to explore the temples with the company of an expert leader, sharing their vast knowledge with you while you admire the beauty of the temple, making your trip both enriching and astounding.

Walkers can also enjoy a boat tour of Tonle Sap - an area connected to the Mekong River, which is seasonally besieged with water, turning it into a freshwater lake. Amazingly, this lake is inhabited by a number of floating communities and is home to approximately 1.2 million people, all of whom live in unusual, stilted houses, and seeing these houses and communities is an unforgettable sight in itself.

The tour you enjoy with us enables you to visit these communities and get a feel for the atmosphere of this truly unique place. Better yet, we ensure that all of our walking groups are kept to a small size, meaning you are guaranteed a sociable and personable experience, holidaying alongside friendly, like-minded people.

Our holiday walking grades

Leisurely

Grade 3

We still class this level as leisurely; walks are generally a little longer than level 2, with undulations but over a longer distance. Where sightseeing distances are longer, we take a full day with opportunities to stop, rest and refuel. Generally, itineraries involve easy countryside walking with plenty of breaks.
