Why Walk in Germany with Ramble Worldwide?

Germany is a country best understood slowly, and on foot is the only way to do it properly. Take the Moselle Trail, which follows the river from Perl in the south to Koblenz in the north where it joins the Rhine. Walking this route with us, you'll pass through farmlands and cherry orchards, past castles and historic riverside towns, watching the life of the river unfold below you. Barges and pleasure boats move through still water, the valley sides planted with the vines that produce some of Germany's most celebrated wines. It's the kind of walking that feels genuinely timeless.

In Bavaria, the scale changes entirely. Here the mountains assert themselves, and the walks take you up into high terrain above the lakes and waterfalls of the Ammer valley, with the Alps stretching away on the horizon. Our small groups give you the space to take it all in at your own pace, and on a warm evening there are few better places to end a walking day than a traditional Bavarian beer garden beside a lake, with a glass of locally brewed beer well and truly earned.

Along the Rhine, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, medieval castles rise above enchanting villages and rolling vineyard slopes, and our guided walks take you to viewpoints and hidden corners that most visitors never find. Whether you're walking the river trails of the Moselle, the high paths above Bavaria, or the romantic landscapes of the Rhine gorge, our expert guides bring the history and character of Germany to life around you.
