At 28°C, the Lake District has surprised us with weather only a couple of degrees cooler than the south. Our Women's Activity Week begins at Hassness House with its welcoming country-house vibe. We've created something unique here: an all-women group in our own shared space with no other guests. It's ideal for single women, particularly those who may be holidaying on their own for the first time.
The beauty of this week is choice. Come prepared to give all the activities a go - exercise gear for the fitness and yoga sessions, swimsuit and water shoes for swimming and kayaking, and of course walking boots and waterproofs. We provide yoga mats and Nordic walking poles. But if you just want a lazy day admiring the views, that's 100% your choice.
What makes this tour special is the unique combination of women coming together in their own shared space with no other guests, trying different activities that may take them out of their comfort zone. This tour is my baby - I've led every one of them since we started them and made a few tweaks to the programme along the way.
Most of the group takes advantage of the beach on the lake shore, only five minutes' walk from the house, enjoying a refreshing swim. Just perfect after a hot day's walking! The unexpected warmth means the water is particularly inviting.
As evening approaches and home-made cake appears at Hassness, conversations flow. We often get repeat bookings on this tour - one client has been six times. People have sometimes made big life decisions after discussing things with others on this tour. It's absolutely the unique combination that sets this apart.
