Q 1. Ramblers Walking Holidays (RWH) and Adagio are coming together to form Ramble Worldwide. What does this mean?
A 1. We are uniting two much-loved brands under one fresh new identity: Ramble Worldwide. There are no alterations to existing bookings and you will still be able to find all our usual holidays. Our focus is, and always will be, creating immersive and unforgettable experiences, with walking at the core. A single brand with a new visual identity brings all our holidays together in one location, with one brochure and one website.
Q 2. Other than the brand name, what are the biggest changes with Ramble Worldwide?
A 2. Beyond our new name, we have built a whole new brand identity with a new logo and a vibrant colour scheme. One that better reflects who we are and how we see the world; transitioning from the previous red and grey scheme to a lively apple green and deep navy blue. The new Ramble Worldwide website (rambleworldwide.co.uk) contains all trips from both Ramblers Walking Holidays and Adagio - plus new trips developed for 2024. We also now have a single, comprehensive brochure.
Q 3. Does the change influence your ABTA or ATOL memberships?
A 3. Ramble Worldwide is a trading name, our legal entity and our memberships of ABTA (The Travel Association) and ATOL (Air Travel Organiser’s Licence - issued by the UK Civil Aviation Authority) remains unchanged. Every holiday we offer to you comes with 100% financial protection so you can be sure your money and your holiday are safe with us. We also remain a member of AITO (the Association of Independent Tour Operators). AITO represents Britain’s leading independent tour operators and encourages high standards of quality and service.
Q 4. Why have you changed the name from Ramblers Holidays?
A 4. We want our name to evoke the adventure that awaits you with us.
We recognised that the term 'Ramblers' implies a collective of walkers, which our extensive research revealed could be somewhat discouraging to certain customers. 'Ramble' on the other hand, conveys an active pursuit - one that allows individuals to embrace their own unique approach to exploration. To add, our research found that many people mistakenly associate us with The Ramblers. So this new name avoids any misconceptions while still maintaining a connection to our rich history. The association in people's minds with The Ramblers often led to a preconception that we exclusively offered UK and European destinations. By adding 'Worldwide' to our name, we're emphasising that our offerings extend far beyond Europe, encompassing exciting destinations in Africa, Asia, the Americas, and beyond.
The extensive feedback from focus groups, loyal customers, leaders, staff, and potential clients consistently indicated that Ramble Worldwide better encapsulates our company and the diverse array of experiences we provide. While the decision to change was not made lightly, we believe it represents a forward-thinking step that aligns with our vision for the future. As we step forward together, we’re taking our unmatched expertise and 70+ years of experience with us.
Q 5. Has your relationship with The Ramblers changed?
A 5. Our relationship has not changed, we continue to have a strong relationship with The Ramblers (Association), and you will still be able to nominate your walking clubs under our Walking Partnership scheme.
Q 6. Is Ramble Worldwide a company with a charitable ethos?
A 6. Yes, we will continue to donate surplus profits to causes supporting accessing and protecting the great outdoors through our own Charitable Trust, the Ramble Worldwide Outdoor Trust, and other initiatives. Our hope is that the new brand will help us attract more customers, which in turn will generate greater donations to charities and good causes.
Q 7. Will Ramble Worldwide continue to source and train its own leaders?
A 7. Yes, we will continue to source and train our own leaders. Our community of leaders remains the same as before. We choose our highly experienced leaders specifically for each walking tour. All leaders, including Adagio leaders, will continue to be selected in the same way we always have. Leaders will be wearing the new Ramble Worldwide bright green and dark blue uniform on holiday, while old uniforms will be collected and donated to good causes where outdoor clothing is required for those who don’t own or have access to anything similar.
Q 8. Are you still offering Private Groups?
A 8. Yes, we will continue to welcome Private Groups on our tours – either taking over scheduled departure dates (where other clients haven’t yet booked) or in providing tailored dates and services. If you wish to organise a Private Group for your club, family or group of friends, you can continue to get in touch with our Groups Team in the same way.
