What makes walking holidays perfect for solo travellers?

Thinking about a solo walking holiday, but not sure about travelling alone? About half of our group members are solo travellers, and our guided walking holidays are designed with exactly this in mind.

Walking is naturally social. It's easy to chat with the people around you as you walk, and because our groups are small (typically around 14 people), you get to know everyone quickly. Our leaders are skilled at bringing groups together whilst giving everyone space to enjoy the experience in their own way.

Many of our guests tell us they've made lasting friendships on these holidays. Some even plan future walking adventures together.

Our leaders know their areas inside out and have years of experience guiding groups. They're there to ensure everyone feels included and gets the most from each walk, so whether you're a confident solo traveller or this is your first time joining a group holiday, we will support you every step of the way.

Making Solo Travel Affordable

Cost doesn’t have to be a barrier for solo travellers. Here at Ramble Worldwide, we offer several ways to keep expenses down:

Room sharing: Many solo travellers choose to share twin accommodation with another group member of the same gender – it keeps costs down and you might make a new friend.

No single supplement holidays: Several of our most popular destinations don't charge extra for solo travellers occupying a twin room, making solo hiking holidays much more affordable.

All our guided walking holidays include half-board accommodation, transport to and from walks, and your dedicated tour leader. You'll only need to budget for personal expenses, insurance, and any attraction entrance fees.
