Walking Holidays in the Balearic Islands

Majorca and Menorca are all idyllic holiday destinations in the Balearics. Waves lap at the shores of sandy beaches, pine trees provide shade from the sunshine, Mediterranean dishes excite the taste buds, and friendly locals make you feel right at home.

While trekking across these islands, you’ll wander past palm tree-lined coasts, against a dramatic backdrop of mountains and among the brilliant blue of the sky and sea. It’s not a surprise that you’ll happen upon local artists making a living from this scenery alone.

Magical Majorca and Menorca

Picnic on the uninhabited nature reserve of Dragonera Island on Majorca. It’s a well-deserved treat after adventures on the Archduke’s Trail, where the terrain is challenging, but the spectacular seascapes and sense of achievement are well worth it.

Soak up the local character as you relax with a glass of wine on the hotel terrace in Puerto Soller, overlooking the lagoon where the mountains meet the sea. As the sun begins to set, the view is dominated by Puig Major and Teix, the two highest peaks of the west coast Sierra de Tramuntana range. Feast your senses walking through lush, fertile land planted with olive, fig, carob and citrus.

Immerse yourself in island life on Menorca. Explore rugged coves, sandy beaches, prehistoric standing stones, and untouched rural tranquillity. The charms of the capital, Mahon, leave you a landscape of discovery. Uncover a fascinating mix of ancient and modern, with its Georgian-style architecture, before rummaging in the old-fashioned shops – you’re sure to bag a bargain.
