I've been leading for Ramble Worldwide for two years and have led 10 tours so far. I've been walking in the hills since I was 4 or 5 years old; my parents were keen walkers and childhood holidays were spent in the Lakes and in Switzerland or Austria. That started a lifetime love of mountains and wild places.
My favourite destination... hmm, that's difficult. Probably Switzerland for the high mountain walking, superb views and well organised transport, but Corsica is a close second with its rebellious spirit, sea, granite peaks and pine trees.
"A visit to Sark brings our week in Guernsey to an end, but what a way to end, on an island where peace and a slow way of life reign supreme." - Jane Ascroft
On our walking holidays in the Swiss Alps, roam through luscious flower filled meadows surrounding quintessential chocolate-box timber villages. Travel by cable car up mighty snow-dusted peaks marvelling at the vistas of coniferous forests, and arête ridges. Hike around azure mineral gorges to fresh spring pastures and cornflower blue lakes blossoming with pink and yellow orchids.
