A step up from our Gentle walking holidays, itineraries on our Leisurely grade walking holidays (Grade 2 & 3) blend active sightseeing with shorter, city or countryside walks. This makes them ideal for first-time hikers as well as people looking for slower-paced walking holidays. You won't be tackling any difficult terrain and these tours only require you to walk for approximately 3 miles at a leisurely pace - with a few ups and downs to tackle along the way. There are plenty of rest stops along the way and opportunities to explore in a relaxed fashion, and also downtime for you to discover where you're staying. For something a little more taxing though, you could try our Moderate grade walking holidays.
There’s a wide variety of beautiful destinations waiting to be explored within our Leisurely graded itineraries, from unearthing Greece’s rich tapestry of myths and legends among ancient-old sites to wandering the Baroque towns in Sicily. When exploring more mountainous areas on these tours, such as the Swiss or Austrian Alps, we use transport to access higher grounds with ease. Our Grade 3 itineraries also feature a diverse list of global destinations: soak up the Caribbean’s balmy weather in Barbados, where relaxed walking, cultural heritage and plenty of rum punch form the basis of your trip, or swap tropical beaches for the sands of Morocco's Atlas Mountains or the towering peaks in The Himalayas, and immerse yourself among dramatic landscapes.
