Walking Holidays in the Algarve

Algarve walking holidays offer plenty of activities, from bird watching to kayaking in tranquil waters. With stunning coastal scenery, including dramatic sea stacks, the Algarve is a beautiful destination for a walking holiday in Portugal.

Your leader will show you the best trails in Ria Formosa Natural Park, a perfect place to immerse yourself in the wonders of nature. From unique wetlands to an abundance of wildlife, there’s sure to be something to excite you.

Tavira Island, just off the main coastline, is filled with fine sandy beaches and is a prominent spot for exploration. Stop at one of the quaint coastal fishing villages on the island, such as Cabanas or Santa Luzia. Plenty of quiet farms and peaceful stretches on Tavira make it the ideal place to unwind.

You can also embark on a fantastic walk between Alvor and Portimão. This coastal ramble will contain breathtaking vistas of the Western Algarve. Rolling hills and dramatic rock formations provide a spectacular backdrop to your hike.
