We are looking for a Leader Manager to join Ramble Worldwide
The Leader Manager is responsible for overseeing our Leader Department. The department consists of 3 full time support staff that report into the Leader Manager. The Leader department is responsible for the recruitment, training, and retention of a panel of 300 volunteer tour leaders. The ideal candidate is a people-person with strong leadership skills, a strategic mindset, and strong customer service mindset.
Key accountabilities (What do I need to deliver/achieve to be effective in this role?)
Volunteer Leader Management
- Arranging briefing / debriefing sessions for Volunteer Tour Leaders.
- Monitoring all questionnaires and alerting relevant departments to problems.
- Manage the recruitment process for our Volunteer Tour Leaders through twice annual recruitment drives.
- Work alongside with HR to ensure a steady stream of applicants for each intake.
- Carry out face to face and online interviews with potential volunteers.
Leader Team Management
- Represent the Leaders Department on the Senior Management Team.
- Member of the Crisis and Incident Management Team.
- Member of the Duty Officer Team.
- Set objectives for your office based team in line with company objectives.
Training & Continuing Professional Development
- Leader’s Training Course – making sure every leader on the panel has a qualification.
- Oversee the Volunteer Leader Training Panel to ensure our training programme remains best in class.
Tour allocation
- Appointing of all leaders – working out the best programme for each leader and appointing them and sending electronic appointment forms and conditions of leading.
Leader Engagement
- Volunteer leader social walks around the UK.
- Ensure key information is communicated via key channels (Leader Newsletter, Facebook Group, Volunteer Website etc...).
Leader Department Operations
- Tour Operations – support of leaders with problems and queries during tour.
- Review post tour reports ensuring key changes required are actioned.
- Leaders Handbook – Work with key managers across the business to ensure the handbook is current and relevant.
- Leaders Administration – keeping up to date all background leader documentation (not tour related) including digital maps and walks programme.
- Leader Accounts.
- Leaders Conference – management of Leaders Conference every 3 – 4 years.
- Leaders Kit – monitor and order stock and make sure all leaders are wearing/using.
- Any other duties as requested by the Operations Director.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
- Good attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communicator, both written and verbal.
- Experience managing volunteers.
- Experienced walker and / or leader not required but preferred.
